Democracy Quiz Classes VIII-IX Date 28th Jan 2022

Quiz enhances general knowledge, thinking power & curiosity to explore among students. 
Keeping in mind the resonance of the above mentioned words, SGS organized Democracy Quiz  competition among students of classes VIII-IX as a part of Friday Activity to enhance the information and knowledge of the students about the most magnificent Indian Democracy  including facts , origin , components and working of democracy .The students showcased their brilliance by rapidly answering the questions. It was a very informative and knowledge enriching competition for the participants along with the audience. The event witnessed enthusiastic preparation and participation.     Democracy, as a form of government of the people, by the people and for the people is often highlighted while studying social science but it is an integral part of our lives. This concept cannot be limited to books only, the students need to experience it. The students of class VI-VII had a Democracy Quiz as a part of Friday Activity on 14th January. The quiz was held in Kahoot, which is a free game-based learning platform that makes it fun to learn – any subject, in any language, on any device. The students competed amongst themselves in the race to reach the top position after crossing various levels. They had a great time learning and enjoying. Thus, this activity helped the students to realise the importance of democracy and recognized the need for it.

      Happiness refers to the state of being happy. It is characterized by feelings of joy, satisfaction,contentment and fulfillment.It is also often described as involving positive thoughts and life satisfaction. With this mind we organised a Workshop on Happiness for the students of Grade II-III on 27 th January,2022.
      The session was indeed valuable and distinct. Children found it really interesting and they got engrossed in the workshop.They also shared their ideas of being happy.Overall this session helped the young souls for learning different ways of being happy and keeping others happy too.

        "Technology is central to development.  It touches one and all, and is an important instrument of our national progress."
        In today's world, 3D model making has become the inseparable part of lives.As 3D model making is used in various industries like film, animation and gaming, interior design and architecture.  
        To make our students able to cope with the upcoming technologies a 3-D MODEL COMPETITION was held on 21st January 2022 as a part of Friday Activity for classes VI-VII. The participants skillfully created many innovative designs using the application Sketchup. These 3D models created by our students were splendid and applaudable. The judges of the competition were Mr. Sandeep (PGT Computer Science) and Mrs. Pooja Gupta ( ATL Incharge). The winners of the competition were:-

        3rd- Srinivasa, Tarushi, Sneha and Tanya

          Flameless Healthy Cooking Grade VIII & IX

          “ Cooking with kids is not just about ingredients, recipes and cooking. It’s harnessing imagination, empowerment and creativity.” 
          To provide a platform for the students to foster their creativity and help them explore their hidden talents and discover new areas of interest Flameless Healthy Cooking Activity was conducted by Ms.Punam Dashiwal in classes VIII -IX virtually on Microsoft Teams.Students were shown the recipe of making Chocolate Balls virtually and were asked to follow the steps with the guided instructions. Students were told the nutritional value of chocolate balls over the maggie and other junk foods while preparing this delicious cuisine.They demonstrated their culinary knowledge and skills and served the dishes in an artistic and aesthetic way which was most appealing.The displays were a visual treat tickling  to the taste buds.Children had fun and were ecstatic when their family members found their dishes tasty and sumptuous.Let's have a look on the glimpses of this activity.

            Patriotic poem recitation competition was organized online on Microsoft Teams for standard 2 and 3 as a part of Thursday activity on 20th January 2022.It helped the students to develop confidence improve vocabulary and also helped to lighten the spirit of patriotism and nationalism in their little hearts.               India will be celebrating the 73rd Republic Day on January 26th, 2022. From scintillating flypast to flamboyant decorations at various Educational institutions, Republic day is celebrated to mark the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect. To let patriotism run in our blood and celebrate Republic Day, we conducted  Tricolour craft activity as a part of Thursday Activity on 20th January, 2022 for this our Scholarites arranged Tricolour sheets and other materials to show their inherent skills by making beautiful tricolour Badges. All the students participated enthusiastically and enjoyed the activity thoroughly

                Friday Activity - Learning By Doing Classes VIII -IX   Date -14th Jan 2022 
                “ Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn.”
                 Active involvement provides deeper learning and with an aim to provide a hands on approach ' Learning By Doing' Workshop was conducted virtually on Microsoft Teams in classes VIII -IX by Ms. Lalita. Activity-based learning is the process of learning by doing. As opposed to asking kids to simply listen and take notes, activity-based learning encourages students to actively participate in their own learning experience through practical activities such as problem-solving and independent investigation. The students were asked to present different activities in the workshop Sahil-class IX C presented the settings of curd, 
                Harsh Phogat the process of milk shake and Vishav shared the demonstration of  flying kite and gardening.

                  Cooking Without Fire Grade II & III

                  ‘’NO ONE IS BORN A GREAT COOK, ONE LEARNS BY DOING’'

                  When you cook without fire,it means you are thinking to eat something healthy without oil and heavy spices.The cooking without fire activity was conducted virtually for our scholarites of grade 2 and 3 as a part of ‘Thursday activity’ on 13th January, 2022  where students learnt to prepare the recipe named ‘’Biscuit cutlets’’.Step by step instructions were given by the teachers in their respective classes. The students were also told about the benefits of different ingredients used in the recipe.The activity was added up by teacher’s directions and PowerPoint presentation.The students enjoyed the activity and presented the dishes prepared by them adding their own creativity and innovations.
