GK Quiz Competition

To develop knowledge and excellence base among students, an Inter-House GK Quiz Competition was organized for the students of grade II-III on 25th August, 2022 as a part of Thursday Activity. The students participated with great enthusiasm. They were asked the questions based on- Indian Heritage, Entertainment, Our Universe, Road Signs,Machines Around Us, States and their Capitals and Current Affairs. It was interesting to watch the participants battling to win the competition as they held their nerve and contested keenly.

The winners of the competition are as follows:
First- Achievers

    Heritage Quiz

    Heritage India Quiz is conducted every year to raise the awareness about the 
    preserving human heritage, diversity and vulnerability of the India's built monuments and 
    heritage sites. It is an attempt of the Board to motivate the future generations of this country 
    towards efforts required to protect and conserve our vast cultural heritage. 
    The heritage quiz competition was a a part of class 6th and 7th Friday activity, which was conducted simultaneously for the respective classes. The theme of this 
    year’s quiz was 'India’s Freedom Struggle’ to commemorate the 75 years of Indian 
    Independence - ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’.

      Debate Competition

      Debate provides experiences that are conducive to life-changing, cognitive, and presentational skills.Through debate, debaters acquire unique educational benefits.
      Scholars Global School organised a Debate competition for the students of grade 4-5 to come forward and participate in the event.
      The final round of the competition was held on August 25, 2022 on the topic - Are zoos beneficial to animals in any way?
      The students came up with many fascinating and reveting facts to make their points stronger.
      The competition was judged by Ms. Pooja Oberoi and Ms. Jyoti Khurana.

        Sudoku puzzles are a great way for a student to develop its critical analysis, logical thinking and decision making abilities. 
        Sudoku is a logic-based, combinatorial number-placement puzzles that demands great focus and instant problem solving skills.
        This activity was conducted simultaneously for students of class 6th and 7th as a part of Friday activity.
        Wherein, students were given sudoko puzzles in a time bound manner which taught them to organize their time and enhance their focus for a quick solution.

          India is a country where people follow various religion. It has a rich heritage and ethnicity. People speak various languages and dialects. But, still, all the Indians are one nation. They have mutual love and respect for each other. The Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat scheme is a programme to strengthen this unity among the people of India. Youth festival ek bharat Shrestha Bharat -on pairing states Haryana Telangana where students presented a play on pairing states depicted there culture tradition festival etc along with poem and quiz on the same theme. Students learnt integrity.

            R&D (Topics related to Social Science)

            FRIDAY ACTIVITY - R&D (SST)                                                                   

            Happiness is not to be found in knowledge but in the acquisition of knowledge. R&D activity was conducted in classes VIII and IX ,R& D which stands for Research and Development, refers to the activities aimed at gathering new knowledge. The main purpose of R&D was to expand the frontiers of human understanding and improve society as a whole. Students made brochures related to the topic  UNESCO World Heritage  for class 8 and Physical Features of India, French Revolution, Democracy, Human Capital Formation for class 9. Students researched the topic for a few days,then collected information and resources and organized the material into final shape with peer discussion on 12th August in Friday Activity periods. This enriched their knowledge in a fun learning environment.Sharing a few glimpses of the same.

              Knowing our Freedom Fighters

              Freedom Fighters are epitome of bravery and their lives personify lessons of supreme struggle and endurance, leaving an enormous impact on everyone. As we are going to celebrate the75th year of our independence, so what could be better than seeing our scholarites of grade 4-5 performing as freedom fighters to pay the homage to all the fighters who sacrificed their lives for the freedom we enjoy today.
              Keeping this in mind, Scholars organised a *Role play Competition* for grade 4&5 as a part of Thursday Activity. Ms Kavya, and Ms Shiva ( parents of grade 6 students) judged the competition and boosted the morale of students.
              It was enthralling to see the spellbound performances given by the students who were generously appreciated by the esteemed judges.
              Following are the results of the competition:-
              Harshita (V- Canaries) secured FIRST Position.
              Raghav (IV- Doves) and Sanvi Dua (IV- Canaries) secured SECOND Position.
              Shashwat (IV- Swans) secured THIRD Position.
              Raavi ( IV Doves), Daksh (IV Doves) , Kanakpriya ( IV Doves) and Aarohi Baweja (V Canaries) Consolation position.

                Emotional awareness helps us know what we need and want (or don't want). It helps us build better relationships. That's because being aware of our emotions can help us talk about feelings more clearly, avoid or resolve conflicts better, and move past difficult feelings more easily.
                Keeping this in mind ,we conducted workshop on "Understanding Emotions"for grade II & III as part of Thursday Activity on 4 August, 2022 through a workshop
                The students enjoyed the workshop with numerous real life examples & activities. The workshop was was followed by a worksheet ?? to reflect on their learning .

                  Friday Activity - Blog Buzz Activity Classes VIII -IX 
                  With the number of blogs around the world running into the tens of millions, blogging has become an immensely popular platform for online content creation, publication and sharing. To update the students with the latest technological advancements a Blog Buzz Activity was conducted for classes VIII and IX in school auditorium in which students were told how to make a blog website by a presentation and later on practised to create content and links on computers. They were guided to use public writing platforms for collaborative writing projects, research journals, student portfolios and more.Overall it was very enriching experience for all the students. Sharing a few glimpses of the same.
